Another very smooth jam by talented funk producer Tryezz.
Brian Ellis is a modern funk producer from Escondido, California who as a solo artist and member of his family group REFLECTION is dedicated to making music the old school way. Ellis uses strictly analog equipment when crafting his funked up sounds. He recently released his first 45 which sees him collaborating with the legendary old school hip hop/electro artist Egyptian Lover on “Love Is” and Bay Area-producer and radio personality K-Maxx on “Electric Body”. Two awesome slices of synth funk for all lovers of 80s boogie.
I’ve been meaning to put together a mix of some of my favorite soulful hip hop tunes for a while and I finally got around to doing it. Soul music is one of the richest sources of sample material among hip hop producers and I’ve picked out some songs I think straddle the line between hip hop and soul nicely. Apart from that the selections here are pretty random and span a number of different styles, eras and regions. Enjoy.
